Locus Energy AB has acquired four hydropower stations in Västerdalälven and Ljusnan in the bidding areas SE3 and SE2. With the acquisition, Locus Energy further strengthens its presence in Dalarna and complements the portfolio of already existing investments in wind power and the partnership with DalaVind.
The acquisition adds additional volume to Locus Energy’s holding of local small-scale hydropower in Sweden, where the company has already built up a portfolio of assets in southern Sweden. The transaction also complements previous development-intensive wind power acquisitions in the Dalarna region, where Locus Energy in April entered into a partnership with DalaVind for the development of Fageråsen’s wind farm in Malung-Sälen and in March acquired Trollberget outside Falun.
“We have once again demonstrated the strength of our networks through this off-market transaction. Contributing to accelerating Dalarna’s energy transition is a long-term goal for Locus Energy.”
Niklas Sörensen, CEO of Locus Energy
“As a long-time owner of hydropower in Sweden and experience of many transactions, I have particularly appreciated Locus Energy’s smooth acquisition process but also the company’s genuine hydropower expertise.“
