Local energy.
For long-term sustainable growth.

We are a long-term active owner and developer of small-scale sustainable infrastructure for energy production in the Nordic region.

Our investment areas

Locus Energy invests in green energy production and smart energy systems that strengthen quality of life, robustness and competitiveness for local communities. We have a particular focus on the acquisition and development of existing assets in hydropower, wind power, bio-fired combined heat and power plants and distribution networks. It is facilities that form the basis of energy supply in the local community.

Hydro

Small-scale local hydropower plants can often increase their electricity production by between 50 and 100 %. And at the same time live up to modern environmental standards. In addition, they are key to strengthen local robustness and resilience.

Wind

Many of today's wind turbines are more than 20 years old and can, through new technology – so-called re-powering – provide both more electricity and create less environmental impact.

Cogeneration

The untapped electricity production potential in existing Swedish biopower plants corresponds to as many as two nuclear reactors and can be put into operation relatively quickly.

Grid & storage

The grid is a key to creating a sustainable local energy system. With the right investments and customer value in focus, the network can create opportunities for integrating new sustainable production while keeping costs down.
INVESTORS

A collaboration with SEB Nordic Energy.

Locus Energy is a jointly owned company between Locus Infra and SEB Asset Management AB (SEB AM). SEB AM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB and one of the largest asset managers in the Nordic region. A central part of sustainability work is active ownership through partners. And to contribute to the generation of more green local electricity.

Through the fund, established in 2022, Locus Energy has access to long-term institutional capital from Nordic institutional investors. The fund is classified as Article 9 according to the EU regulation on sustainability-related disclosures, SFDR, which means that it has sustainable investments as its goal.
