SEB Nordic Energy’s portfolio company, Locus Energy AB, has acquired the three wind parks Pirttiselkä, Muntila and Leppävirta from SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II, an investment vehicle managed by SUSI Partners. The acquisition further strengthens the company’s portfolio of sustainable energy production assets in Finland, contributing approximately 125 GWh in annual production to the existing portfolio of wind, solar and hydro power.
The wind parks are located in the three municipalities Raahe, Uusikaupunki and Leppävirta in the northwest, south west and east of Finland. The wind parks contribute approximately 125 GWh and 13 wind turbine generators to the existing Finnish portfolio already consisting of wind, solar and hydro power plants. The acquisitions further strengthen Locus Energy’s ambitions to create a long-term sustainable energy system in Finland, where hydropower, wind power and solar power work together to create stability and balance in the system.
“Our ambition is to create flexible electricity generation by up-grading and connecting already existing assets. Acquiring the SUSI portfolio contributes to this ambition. Furthermore, we see great potential in the Finnish market where Locus Energy’s ambition to invest in sustainable energy generating assets supports Finland’s overarching goal to become carbon neutral by 2035” says Niklas Sörensen, CEO of Locus Energy
“We are proud to continue building our sustainable asset portfolio in Finland. With a stronger presence in Finland, we contribute to strengthening local energy systems and advancing the energy transition, which is the aim of SEB Nordic Energy,” says Elin Löfblad, Portfolio Manager, SEB Nordic Energy.
